Game 4: vs. Louisiana-Monroe (Sep. 21)

Location: DKR (Austin, TX)

Texas's final game of the non-conference slate comes against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at DKR in late September. ULM makes the trip to Austin to face the Longhorns for the second time in the last three years.

Ewers made his first start of his career at Texas against ULM in the regular season opener in 2022, resulting in a 52-10 victory for the Longhorns.

ULM enters the 2024 season with a first-year head coach, Bryant Vincent, and a new starting quarterback who has some familiarity with the Longhorns, Oklahoma transfer General Booty.

Booty spent the last two seasons at Oklahoma before transferring to ULM for the 2024 season. He leads a ULM offense that only returns one starter this season.

ULM's defense is in a bit better shape regarding its stability and returning starters, with five compared to just the one on the offensive side of the ball. But ULM had one of the nation's worst defenses, allowing nearly 450 yards per game and 35 points in 2023. Improving the defense will be a big looming task for Vincent and his staff this fall.

This matchup against ULM should give the Longhorns the chance to get multiple levels of the depth chart some valuable live-game reps before the start of conference play the following weekend.

Prediction: Texas 59, ULM-7

Record: 4-0 (0-0 SEC)
