In the last couple of weeks, the 2025 Texas football recruiting class has tripled in size. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian landed commitments from two blue-chip recruits in the 2025 class in as many days earlier this month.

The latest Texas pledge in the 2025 class came from the touted four-star Melbourne (FL) Eau Gallie defensive lineman Brandon Brown on Dec. 19. Brown literally committed the day after Sark and the Longhorns staff landed a pledge from four-star Calhoun (GA) tight end Emaree Winston.

The other commitment the Longhorns have in the 2025 class is the highly touted four-star Saraland (AL) quarterback KJ Lacey. The No. 7 quarterback nationally in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite picked Texas over the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers to become the first commitment in the 2025 class back in early June.

Texas has landed three commitments from three different states outside of their state in the 2025 class. All three commitments saw the Longhorns go to SEC country and land three highly touted blue chips.

The Longhorns will only continue to expand their footprint in the 2025 class with Junior Day just around the corner in late January.

Here's a prediction of the next 2025 target to commit to the Longhorns in the 2025 class heading into the offseason.

Anthony Williams, LB/EDGE

The next scheduled commitment to watch among key targets of the Longhorns in the 2025 class is three-star Pearland (TX) Shadow Creek linebacker/edge rusher Anthony "Deuce" Williams. The 6-foot-4 and 190-pound defender from Texas is scheduled to announce on Jan. 1.

Williams included Texas among his top 12 schools when he dropped his announcement date on social media a few days ago.

Also included among his top 12 schools are the Auburn Tigers, TCU Horned Frogs, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Houston Cougars, Oregon Ducks, Arizona Wildcats, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Baylor Bears, Arkansas Razorbacks, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Kansas Jayhawks.

Gerry Hamilton of On3 reported on Dec. 29 that Texas is the only visit Williams has on the docket for early this coming offseason. Williams reportedly plans to attend Texas's Junior Day festivities on Jan. 20.

It is pretty telling that Williams has already taken multiple successful visits to Texas in the last 12 or 18 months and that Austin is the only trip he currently plans to take early in the 2024 offseason.

If Texas really pushes for a commitment from Williams, the Longhorns should be the pick for his New Year's Day decision.
