Among the top out-of-state wide receiver priorities for the Longhorns in the 2025 class is the highly touted four-star Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei product Marcus Harris. Harris has liked what he's seen from the visits he's taken to Texas so far during his recruitment, and he's got great relationships with Sark and wide receivers coach Chris Jackson.

The No. 1 California wide receiver in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking has already taken multiple successful trips to Texas since last offseason. Harris visited Texas for a gameday this fall at DKR, for the Wyoming game on Sep. 16.

And he took an unofficial visit to Texas with a handful of Mater Dei teammates on the week of Texas's pool party/BBQ bash in late July.

It was reported just last week that Texas has a "considerable lead" in this recruitment for Harris. That continues to be the case from what we've heard in this recruitment.

Harris is considered to be a strong possibility to be on the visitor list for Texas's Junior Day festivities next month.

If Texas gets Harris to campus for Junior Day on Jan. 20, the Longhorns can try and seal the deal in this recruitment with a top target at the position in the 2025 class.
