Texas Football: Predicting UT's next commit after Trey Moore
Ryan Williams, WR (Alabama commit)
While Texas did fill up the wide receiver spots in the 2024 class during the Early Signing Period landing a commitment from the highly touted four-star Calabasas (CA) athlete Aaron Butler on Dec. 22. Texas has four wide receiver signees in the 2024 class after adding Butler late this week.
The numbers breaker in this class at wide receiver for the Longhorns heading into the late signing period would, without a doubt, be the elite five-star Saraland (AL) wideout and Alabama commit Ryan Williams.
After reclassifying from the 2025 class down to 2024 a few weeks ago, Williams is the highest-rated unsigned wide receiver recruit in the nation for this cycle after the Early Signing Period.
Texas was among the five schools Williams mentioned that he wanted to officially visit before the late signing period after reclassifying.
Jason Suchomel of Orangebloods also reported this week (subscriber content) that Williams' teammate, four-star Texas quarterback commit KJ Lacey, has been in his ear recruiting him to Austin throughout the fall.
It seems like the most likely scenario in this recruitment is for Williams to stay in-state with either Alabama or the Auburn Tigers. Auburn has made a big late push with Williams, including hosting him for multiple visits to campus this fall.
If Williams shows up on campus in Austin before the late signing period, though, anything can happen in this recruitment for the Longhorns.
