Alex Foster, DL (Baylor commit)

Three-star Baylor Bears defensive line commit and Greenville (MS) St. Joseph's product Alex Foster took his official visit to Texas last weekend. He took a multi-day official visit to Austin from Dec. 15-17.

Foster also took a multi-day unofficial visit to Texas in late November for the regular season finale at DKR on Black Friday (Nov. 24) against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Texas has targeted Foster among the late-cycle defensive line flip candidates in the 2024 class. Texas's fate in this recruitment really depends on how much defensive line coach Bo Davis and this staff pushes for a commitment from Foster.

It felt like Texas could flip Foster's commitment from Baylor while he was on campus last weekend for the official visit. But he reportedly (per On3's Gerry Hamilton) is likely to push his signing until the late signing period in February.

If Foster's recruitment extends through the late signing period in February, an in-home visit from Sark and Davis would be likely to take place sometime in January.

Whether Foster ends up in the Longhorns' 2024 class still depends on how much Sark and Davis push to flip his commitment from Baylor in the coming days and weeks.

Foster, Evans, and McKinley are the top three flip candidates to watch for the Longhorns down the stretch in this cycle to fill the final spot for defensive line recruiting in the 2024 class.
