Texas has 'quiet confidence' with 4-Star DL DJ Sanders
Texas football hosts its final big official visit weekend of June this upcoming weekend. This weekend will see Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian hosts roughly 20 official visitors from the 2025 class (specifically from June 21-23).

Wide receiver recruiting and the trenches will be key position groups to watch on each side of the ball among Texas's official visitors this weekend. One of the top rated defensive linemen set to officially visit Texas on June 21 is the highly touted Bellville (TX) four-star DJ Sanders.
The big 6-foot-4 and 325-pound defensive tackle from Southeast Texas is making his second trip to Austin in the last three months. Sanders has already taken official visits to see the Michigan Wolverines (May 31) and Texas A&M Aggies (June 14) in the last few weeks.
Texas needs to land these types of "big human" recruits in the trenches entering the SEC this year. The Longhorns and Kenny Baker are battling Texas A&M and Michigan for the No. 1 defensive line recruit in Texas in the 2025 class in the On3 Industry Ranking.
While Sanders is one of the recruits you'll see in this day and age that keeps things closer to the chest, he and his family have been impressed by their recent visit experiences at Texas. Texas made a big impression on him and his mother during his unofficial visit to Austin in early April for Longhorn City Limits.
Inside Texas' Justin Wells reported on June 19 (paid content) that Texas has "some quiet confidence" in Sanders' recruitment entering his official visit in a couple of days. A similar sentiment was echoed following Sanders' successful unofficial visit to Austin two months ago during spring practice.
Texas has a chance to firmly grab momentum in this recruitment if they have another successful visit with Sanders this upcoming weekend for his official trip starting June 21.
As is often said, Texas getting the final official visit with Sanders among the trips he currently has scheduled for this summer is a big advantage. Texas can get the final word with Sanders during his official visit this weekend before he potentially is ready to announce before his senior season.
