Texas is prioritizing these 2025 flip targets entering fall
Dakorien Moore, WR (Oregon commit)
It is still a tad bit early to be bringing up the conversation of Texas potentially pursuing a flip of the elite five-star Duncanville (TX) wide receiver Dakorien Moore away from Oregon. Moore spurned Texas just a couple of weeks ago when he committed to Oregon over the Longhorns in a bit of a surprise (at the time it was announced) July 4 holiday decision.
Moore's recruitment was originally expected to drag out a bit longer than it did in reality in early July with the announcement coming 10 days ago.
Despite missing out on arguably the top-priority wide receiver recruit in the class of 2025 for the Longhorns, I'd still expect the staff to at least keep their finger on the pulse in this recruitment during the fall. It was always figured during the spring and early this summer, especially when Moore was still committed to the LSU Tigers, that Texas was ultimately going to be the pick for him.
Were something to happen between Moore and the Ducks where he wanted to consider other options on the recruiting trail before signing day arrives in mid-December, Texas could still be in play.
I still firmly believe this will be an elite wide receiver class for the Longhorns, regardless of whether Moore will be a part of it on signing day in December. Texas is still very much in the running for five-star wideout targets Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench ahead of their August decisions.
Texas will also continue to keep in contact with Oregon's top two highest-rated wide receiver commitments for this cycle, Wilson and Moore, to see if anything opens up in their recruitments this fall.
