An eventful first quarter for Texas football in the Orange-White spring football game on April 20 saw redshirt freshman quarterback Arch Manning show off his deep ball. Manning found sophomore wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. on a 75-yard touchdown pass to get Team White on the board with a beautiful deep ball, which lit up social media and the Texas faithful in attendance at DKR.

Arch really showed off all that arm talent that made him the No. 1 quarterback recruit in the nation in the 2023 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking.

Manning took over for Team White after a couple of drives for redshirt junior starting quarterback Quinn Ewers. Head coach Steve Sarkisian said that the snaps would be limited in the spring game on April 20 for Ewers. Manning, true freshman Trey Owens, and senior Cole Lourd are set to take most of the reps at quarterback in the spring game today.

That pinpoint deep ball from Manning late in the first quarter to get Team White on the board wasn't the only nice throw he had in the first half. Manning showed good timing and accuracy on multiple completions in the spring game, including on a nice pass over the middle to redshirt freshman wide receiver Ryan Niblett.

The highlights kept coming for Arch in the first half, finding junior running back Jaydon Blue for a nice touchdown pass. Arch completed each of his first five passing attempts for over 130 passing yards and two scores.

Arch is showing why the hype is real surrounding his talent in his second spring game at Texas.
