Texas football quarterback commit KJ Lacey was announced to be part of the Elite 11 Finalists roster this week. The highly touted four-star quarterback from Saraland High School in Alabama will have a chance to compete among 20 of the top quarterback recruits in the nation in the 2025 class.
Elite 11 Finals will have Texas football representation with 4-Star commit KJ Lacey
A few other notable 2025 quarterback recruits included among the Elite 11 Finalists are Duncanville (TX) four-star/Alabama commit Keelon Russell, Carrollton (GA) five-star/USC commit Julian Lewis, and Corona (CA) Centennial four-star/Texas A&M commit Husan Longstreet.
The Elite 11 Finals will be held in Los Angeles, CA, during a multi-day event from June 18-20. This is the 25th year of the Elite 11 Finals, which started back in 1999.
Some of the more notable Elite 11 alumni include USC's Carson Palmer, Stanford's Andrew Luck, Florida's Tim Tebow, Alabama's Bryce Young, USC's Caleb Williams, Clemson's Trevor Lawrence, and Ohio State's CJ Stroud, among many others.
Notable Texas alumni/current quarterbacks who were Elite 11 Finalists include Quinn Ewers, Hudson Card, Sam Ehlinger, and Vince Young.
Last year, then five-star Alabama quarterback commit Julian Sayin won the Elite 11 MVP honors. A Texas quarterback has never won the Elite 11 MVP.
Lacey earned the Elite 11 Finals invite after a solid showing during the Elite 11 Regionals in Austin during the spring. Rivals listed Lacey among the top three best performers in the Elite 11 Regionals in Austin in late March.
The 6-foot and 175-pound blue-chip quarterback recruit from Alabama was the first commitment the Longhorns got in the 2025 class last summer. Despite efforts from the Auburn Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels to try and flip his commitment this offseason, Lacey has re-affirmed his pledge to the Longhorns multiple times in the last few months.
One day after the Elite 11 Finals conclude in LA, Lacey is scheduled to take his only official visit this summer to see Texas next weekend (June 21-23).
