Texas visit 'was great' for elite 2026 QB target Dia Bell
Texas football is already zoning in on a few top quarterback targets in the 2026 recruiting class. Early this offseason, Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian hosted multiple top quarterback offers in the 2026 class.

In the last couple of months alone, Sarkisian, QB coach AJ Milwee, and the Longhorns hosted two blue-chip quarterback offers from the 2026 cycle. The most recent of the two 2026 quarterback offers that the Longhorns hosted for a visit was elite Fort Lauderdale (FL) American Heritage product Dia Bell.
Sarkisian and the Longhorns offered Bell during his unofficial visit to Austin on March 19. Bell said after he received the Texas offer last week that the Longhorns were already "high on his list". However, the successful visit and the subsequent communication from the Longhorns' coaches left a big impression on Bell.
On3 reported on March 27 that the Texas visit and getting to meet Sarkisian and Milwee "was great" for him. Bell also mentioned that while last week was his first time visiting Austin unofficially, he's "been building my relationship with coach Milwee for quite some time now".
Bell noted that there are some schools that are starting to separate themselves among his top group. It sounds like those early relationship-building efforts by Milwee and the Longhorns and the successful early spring visit are starting to pay dividends for them in this recruitment.
Multiple people involved in the recruitment of Bell from Texas
Texas has kept its foot on the gas in this recruitment in the last week or so since Bell's unofficial visit concluded on March 19. He communicates regularly with Milwee and has even talked with four-star 2025 Texas quarterback commit KJ Lacey.
Lacey has reportedly talked "highly" of Texas in his communication with Bell. And it sounds like the visit lived up to the hype that Lacey had convinced him of beforehand.
The Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions, Oregon Ducks, LSU Tigers, and Alabama Crimson Tide, among others, have all either received recent visits from Bell or will before the spring concludes. He's set to visit Florida on March 30, North Carolina on April 2, and Alabama on April 3.
