The regular season opens up for Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian against head coach Jay Norvell and the Colorado State Rams from the Mountain West Conference, as UT finally returns to DKR for live football action this fall.

Texas is expected to contend for a spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff this year, along with competing for the SEC title in its inaugural season competing in the conference. Sarkisian has the Longhorns trending in the right direction as a program, after they won the Big 12 Championship for the first time since 2009 and made the program's first appearance in the four-team CFP last postseason.

Both coaches are ready to open up the 2024 regular season this upcoming weekend with what will be a hot and possibly wet contest at DKR between Texas and Colorado State in Austin on Saturday afternoon.

Here's a look at the game information, betting odds, injuries, and more for the Week 1 regular season opener between No. 4 Texas and Colorado State at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, TX, on Aug. 31.
