Texas vs. Tennessee NCAA Tournament Round 2: How to watch, odds, and predictions for March Madness
By Sam Fariss
The Horns are set to meet their former head coach Rick Barnes in the Round of 32.
After taking down the Colorado State Rams, Texas made its way to the Round of 32 where the Longhorns will face the Tennessee Volunteers.
Barnes ran the Horns’ program for 17 years before taking over the Vols’ team in 2015.
Texas has the No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region while Barnes and Vols have the No. 2 seed.

Texas vs. Tennessee NCAA Tournament Round 2 odds
Unsurprisingly, Tennessee is heavily favored in this matchup of UTs. The Vols are currently 6.5-point favorites over the Horns in a game whose moneyline is only set at 145.5 combined points.
Texas’ scoring looked slow and lethargic against Colorado State, the Longhorns only winning 56-44. Meanwhile, the Vols absolutely demolished Saint Peter’s in an 83-49 victory in the First Round.
I think Tennessee will continue to assert its dominance against opponents and won’t slow down even if they go up 20 points or more.
Texas vs. Tennessee NCAA Tournament Round 2 prediction
Longhorns stars Max Abmas and Dylan Disu simply won’t be able to keep up with Dalton Knecht, Jonas Aidoo, and Zakai Zeigler.
Both teams failed to advance in their conference tournaments but I think that speaks more loudly about Texas’ capabilities than Tennessee’s.
The Vols have dominated throughout the season and in their first March Madness game, the one exception to that dominance was in the SEC Tournament.
The Horns, however, have struggled to compete against teams that they should easily defeat (i.e. the Colorado State Rams).
