Texas vs. UTSA full injury report for Week 3
No. 2 Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian play their first game back at home at DKR in Austin since toppling the defending National Champion Michigan Wolverines this weekend against the UTSA Roadrunners.
Texas is coming off a very impressive 31-12 victory over the No. 10 ranked Wolverines on the road at the Big House last weekend. After the win over Michigan, Texas has two more tune-up games during non-conference play before the SEC slate begins in a couple of weeks against Mississippi State at home.
Head coach Jeff Traylor and the Roadrunners will face the Longhorns this weekend as five-score underdogs at DKR, after a convincing 49-10 loss at the hands of the Texas State Bobcats in Week 2.
Here's a look at the full injury report for the Week 2 matchup between No. 2 Texas and UTSA at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, TX, on Sep. 14 at 6 p.m. CT.
Texas football injury report vs. UTSA
CJ Baxter Jr., RB (Out)
Sophomore running back CJ Baxter Jr. is out for the season after suffering a torn ligament in his knee during fall practice. Baxter underwent successful knee surgery a few weeks ago and is expected to be ready for the start of the 2025 season for the Longhorns.
Christian Clark, RB (Out)
True freshman running back Christian Clark is out for the season after he tore his Achilles during a non-contact play in team drills during fall camp. Clark's season-ending lower-body injury left the Longhorns with three healthy scholarship running backs entering the fall.
Jaydon Blue, RB (Probable)
Last week, junior running back Jaydon Blue suffered an ankle injury in the first half against Michigan. Blue returned to the game later in the second half and finished up the victory over Michigan with 15 touches for 59 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown.
After the game, Blue said that he will "be alright" and that his ankle got rolled up on by a Michigan defender last weekend.
UTSA injury report vs. Texas
Nnanna Anyanwu, LB (Out)
Sophomore edge rusher/outside linebacker Nnanna Anyanwu hasn't played any live-game snaps for the Roadrunners since he suffered a season-ending injury in Week 2 vs. Texas State in 2023. He is expected to miss the Texas game this weekend.
Jaren Randle, WR (Out)
Wide receiver Jaren Randle suffered a leg injury in UTSA's season opener in Week 1 against Kennesaw State. Per Traylor, Randle will be out for "some time", but he hasn't been ruled out for the rest of the 2024 season.
De'Corian Clark, WR (Questionable)
Redshirt senior wide receiver De'Corian Clark has been working his way back from multiple knee surgeries since he suffered a torn ACL in the 2022 season. Clark has been rehabbing his knee since the start of fall camp and his status is uncertain entering the Texas game on Sep. 14.
