This week, Texas football coaches are hitting the road on the recruiting trail to see top targets around the country in the 2025 and 2026 classes. For many recruits, this is the final opportunity for the Texas coaches to visit them post-spring ball before summer official visits get underway in early June.

Texas football pursuing 5-Star Oregon WR commit Dallas Wilson late this spring

Per Inside Texas' Charlie Williams, Texas special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks visited Florida to see a top out-of-state wide receiver target this week.

Banks reportedly visited Tampa Bay Tech High School in Florida early this week to see the elite five-star Oregon Ducks wide receiver commit Dallas Wilson. Texas offered Wilson in late September 2023, and has continued recruiting him early this offseason.

This isn't the first time that Banks visited Tampa Bay Tech and Wilson in Florida. He also made the trip to Florida to see Wilson at his high school in January.

Texas is working on getting Wilson scheduled for an official visit this summer. The Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, and Miami Hurricanes are also trying to chip away at Wilson's commitment to Oregon late this spring after the elite wideout committed to the Ducks in mid-January 2024.

The official visits currently on the books for Wilson this summer are to Miami (June 7), Florida (June 14), and Oregon (June 21).

Interest between Wilson and the Longhorns has picked up more recently. He reportedly likes what he's seen from Texas regarding on-field success, player development, and NFL Draft results in the last couple of years under head coach Steve Sarkisian.

Texas likes the playmaking ability and big frame that the 6-foot-3 and 190-pound wideout Wilson brings. He's an elite playmaker with NFL-caliber physical tools who could thrive at boundary receiver in Texas's offense.
