These elite 2026 recruits were crystal-balled to Texas

The early picture of what Texas's 2026 recruiting class could look like has started to come together after some big visit weekends for that cycle during the summer.

In the aftermath of the final big visit event of the summer on the recruiting trail for the late July pool party/BBQ bash last Thursday, Texas football appears to be in good shape for the 2025 and 2026 classes. Entering the fall, Texas has 16 commitments in the 2025 recruiting class and two for 2026.

Texas football trending early for multiple blue-chip 2026 recruits late this summer

Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns staff hosted roughly a half-dozen key 2025 targets on the recruiting trail for the pool party/BBQ bash on July 25. And there was over a dozen offers/potential offers on campus from the 2026 class last week for the bash event.

Regarding the foundation Texas has laid for the 2026 class, these types of successful visit events on the trail will help to continue to pave the way for a top class in the nation. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Longhorns start gaining momentum on the trail for the 2026 class during the fall. And this class will really get going after the signing period in early December for the 2025 cycle.

Here are three 2026 recruits who visited Texas for the pool party/BBQ bash last week that were crystal balled to the Longhorns.

Jamarion Carlton, DL

Texas offered high-four-star Temple (TX) defensive lineman/edge rusher Jamarion Carlton after he attended the Elite Camp for the Longhorns in early June. Carlton has visited Texas unofficially many more times than just for the pool party/BBQ bash on July 25 and the Elite Camp in early June.

He's been a frequent visitor on campus since last fall, allowing co-DC Pete Kwiatkowski to build a great relationship with Carlton over the last year or so.

Horns247 reported that Carlton spent a lot of time talking with PK and Sarkisian during his visit to Austin last week. Carlton liked getting to see the player-led practice and workout session last Thursday and getting to spend a lot of time face-to-face with the coaches, namely PK.

Multiple 247Sports reporters/analysts entered crystal balls, projecting Carlton's commitment to the Longhorns in the 2026 class after the successful pool party/BBQ bash visit last week.
