Another frequent visitor for the Longhorns since last fall who made the trip for the pool party/BBQ bash event last week was the highly touted four-star San Antonio (TX) James Madison wide receiver Jordan Clay. The top-ranked wide receiver in Texas in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports, Clay has loved what he's seen from the Longhorns early in his recruitment.

Clay made his fourth visit to Texas since late last summer for the pool party/BBQ bash event on July 25. It's also his second unofficial visit to Texas since the Longhorns offered him earlier this summer.

Since the Longhorns offered him a couple of months ago, Texas has emerged as the frontrunner for Clay entering his junior season at Madison High School in San Antonio. He's told multiple media outlets and reporters this summer that Texas is the "No. 1 school" no his list at this point of his recruitment.

Since last fall, Clay has also taken visits to see the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Baylor Bears, and Texas A&M, among a handful of other FBS schools.

Texas is the presumptive favorite early in Clay's recruitment. And until something major changes, it's hard to not see the Longhorns in the driver seat in the race to land Clay's commitment early in the 2026 cycle.

Multiple industry experts have already forecasted Clay to commit to the Longhorns in the 2026 class this summer. Two more crystal balls were entered by 247Sports early this week, projecting Clay's commitment to the Longhorns.
