Chad Woodfork, EDGE

One of the highest-rated edge rusher recruits on the visitor list for Texas's Junior Day festivities this weekend is the highly touted Humble (TX) Summer Creek four-star Chad Woodfork. The top-50 rated recruit nationally in the 247Sports Composite is a top priority at the EDGE position for the Longhorns in the 2025 class.

Texas was one of the first five FBS schools to offer Woodfork. He's also visited Texas more than any other school, making multiple trips to Austin since the start of last year.

Woodfork included Texas among his top nine finalist schools that he dropped on social media on Jan. 17. The USC Trojans, Georgia Bulldogs, Baylor Bears, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Houston Cougars, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Texas Tech Red Raiders also cracked his top nine this week.

Texas has done a great job making Woodfork feel like he is a top priority for this staff in the 2025 class. If a leader had to be named in this recruitment early this offseason, it would probably be Texas due to the tight relationships this staff has built with Woodfork and his family and the multiple successful visits he's taken to Austin in the last 12 months.
