Texas football recruiting is on a heater late this summer on the trail for the 2025 class over the past week or so. In the seven to 10 days, Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian have reeled in commitments from multiple blue-chip recruits in the 2025 class, including the elite five-star Galveston (TX) Ball safety/athlete Jonah Williams.

Getting Williams and the highly touted four-star Loganville (GA) Grayson offensive tackle Nick Brooks in the boat in the 2025 class was huge for the Longhorns to build momentum entering the fall. Texas had its fair share of ups and downs on the recruiting trail for this cycle during the summer, with a handful of top targets in-state at key positions committing elsewhere over the past couple of months.

But Texas is now well within striking distance of a top three or five class ranked nationally in the major recruiting services for 2025 just a few months out from signing day in early December.

Texas has been trending for a couple of key five-star recruits in the 2025 class entering the fall on the trail. I bet there's a good chance the Longhorns land both of them by the end of next month in September.

Here are five "must-win" recruitments for the Longhorns in the 2025 class entering the fall.

Madden Faraimo, LB

Texas's top remaining out-of-state linebacker priority in the 2025 class entering the fall on the trail is San Juan Capistrano (CA) J Serra Catholic four-star Madden Faraimo. Texas is battling the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Washington Huskies, and USC Trojans in the race to land the blue-chip linebacker from Southern California.

Notre Dame continues to lead this recruitment entering the fall for Faraimo. But the Longhorns and Trojans have made this a very interesting race on the recruiting trail this summer. Notre Dame was once the heavy favorite to win this recruitment, but Texas and USC made up a lot of ground here during summer official visits.

Texas and Johnny Nansen are continuing to battle in this recruitment for Faraimo, with a decision expected to come from him at some point after late September or early October.
