After a slow start from All-Big 12 Texas basketball senior guard Max Abmas in the Round of 64 matchup in March Madness against the 10-seed Colorado State Rams, he came alive down the stretch. Abmas delivered a clutch halftime buzzer-beater from way downtown for Texas to take a commanding 27-11 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Abmas capped an insane 25-3 run for the Longhorns to close out the first half with his first three-point field goal of the game against Colorado State in the dying seconds.

Head coach Rodney Terry and the Longhorns rallied after being down early in the first half against Colorado State to take a commanding double-digit lead into the locker room at halftime. Texas was down 8-2 and had three times as many turnovers as field goals in the game's first five minutes.

But Texas found its groove on offense thanks to some solid defense that forced Colorado State turnovers and turned into points for the Longhorns on the offensive end. Texas led in points off turnovers in the first half by a margin of 11-0.

It's really impressive to see the Longhorns go on this type of run to close out the first half against a Colorado State team that has been so good offensively this season. And the Longhorns were able to do so while their two top scorers, Abmas and senior big man Dylan Disu, struggled shooting from the field in the first half.

Abmas and Disu combined to shoot just 3-of-15 from the field and 1-of-8 from beyond the arc in the first half against Colorado State, with the only three-pointer being that clutch shot from the logo late from Max. If Abmas and Disu can get going for the Longhorns in the second half, this game could become even uglier for Texas down the stretch.
