Kentucky took care of business without much of an issue in Week 1, with a 31-0 shutout victory at home over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles on Aug. 31. Georgia transfer quarterback Brock Vandagriff looked pretty comfortable amid a long weather delay in their season opener over the weekend, with over 150 passing yards and three touchdowns.

Coming off its first shutout victory in over a decade in a regular season opener, Kentucky hosts South Carolina in an important matchup for the Wildcats to start SEC play in Week 2.

Kentucky is a double-digit favorite in the early betting odds this week in the South Carolina SEC opener in Lexington next Saturday.

Despite it coming against an FCS foe, the Auburn Tigers were really impressive offensively in a 70-point thrashing of Alabama A&M at home. Starting quarterback Payton Thorne had a career day, throwing for over 300 yards and five total touchdowns.

Auburn's receiving corps was very dynamic and explosive in Week 1, with three wideouts each having over 80 receiving yards and at least one touchdown catch.

Head coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers dropped their regular season opener for the third straight year after falling short to USC and head coach Lincoln Riley by one touchdown on Sunday night in the Las Vegas Kickoff Classic.

LSU can regroup and get on the right side of the win column next weekend when it hosts FCS Nicholls State at home on Sep. 7 before the start of SEC play the following week.

Texas A&M had a dismal offensive showing in a 10-point loss to the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Kyle Field in primetime on Saturday night. Sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman was pretty horrific against Notre Dame's ferocious and experienced defense, completing just 40 percent of his passes fo 100 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions.

The Aggies must regroup offensively and build some confidence and momentum against FCS McNeese State at home in Week 2.
