. . . 7. Oklahoma. 1-0 (0-0 SEC). . . Week 1 Result: 51-3 win vs. Temple. 464

Last week: 9 (+2)

Third-year head coach Brent Venables has the Oklahoma Sooners defense looking fantastic after they forced a whopping six turnovers in a dominant 51-3 win over the Temple Owls in Week 1. Sophomore Jackson Arnold looked pretty comfortable at quarterback, with four passing touchdowns and no turnovers.

Oklahoma has a matchup against a Houston Cougars squad from the Big 12 that was handily defeated by a UNLV Rebels squad, by a score of 27-7, that was a double-digit underdog going into the contest.

The offensive line remains a question mark for the Sooners after allowing four sacks against a much smaller and less athletic Temple defensive front, which tied for the most of any SEC team for sacks allowed in Week 1 of the season.

. Mizzou. . Week 1 Result: 51-0 win vs. Missouri State. 531. 1-0 (0-0 SEC). 6. . .

Last week: 7 (+1)

We didn't get to learn much about the Mizzou Tigers after it toppled the FCS Murray State Racers in a 51-0 shutout victory last Thursday to open the season at home. Mizzou was efficient on offense and choked the life out of Murray State on defense, allowing just 85 total yards of offense from the Racers.

Mizzou has another very winnable matchup out-of-conference in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bulls from the MAC at home on Sep. 7.

Week 1 Result: 69-3 win vs. Chattanooga. . 1-0 (0-0 SEC). 5. Tennessee. . 534. . .

Last week: 5 (--)

The Tennessee Volunteers and head coach Josh Heupel demolished FCS Chattanooga by a score of 69-3 in Week 1. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava's first game as the full-time starter for the Tennessee offense was smooth, as he tossed three touchdowns and amassed over 300 passing yards in the win on Saturday.

Iamaleava and the Vols will be tested in a neutral site battle in Week 2 against an experienced P4 squad from the ACC, against the NC State Wolfpack in Charlotte, NC, on Sep. 7.

. . 523. . 4. Alabama. . . 1-0 (0-0 SEC). Week 1 Result: 63-0 win vs. Western Kentucky

Last week: 4 (--)

Any questions about how the Kalen DeBoer era would begin for the Alabama Crimson Tide were put to rest pretty quickly in a 63-0 blasting of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in Tuscaloosa for Week 1. Alabama tallied up 600 total yards of offense while averaging over nine yards per play against Western Kentucky in their opener.

Jalen Milroe was ultra efficient through the air and on the ground, throwing three touchdowns passes on just seven completions and nine pass attempts. He also ran for 79 yards and two scores. Alabama faces a South Florida Bulls team that gave them a bigger test than expected early last season in non-conference play next weekend.
