The top four teams in the SEC all look the part of well-rounded and explosive teams on both sides of the ball early this season.

The Tennessee Volunteers and head coach Josh Heupel move into the top three in the SEC power rankings for the first time this season after dominating the No. 24 NC State Wolfpack to the tune of a 52-10 win in Charlotte. Tennessee proved its status as a Playoff contender, looking very impressive in the trenches on both sides of the ball in the win over NC State.

Texas probably had the most impressive win of any ranked team in college football last weekend when it toppled the defending National Champions Michigan on the road in Ann Arbor by nearly 20 points. Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns ended Michigan's 23-game home winning streak with the 31-12 convincing victory at the Big House.

With Ewers being considered the Heisman favorite by many media outlets and Vegas sportsbooks entering Week 3, Texas has established itself among the top tier of teams in college football. ESPN's FPI ranks the Longhorns as the No. 1 team in the nation in college football after the big win in Ann Arbor over Michigan on Sep. 7.

Georgia. . 527. . Week 2 Result: 48-3 win vs. Tennessee Tech. . . 1. 2-0 (0-0 SEC).

No. 1 Georgia holds its spot at the top of this week's SEC power rankings despite the Longhorns giving them a run for the top position after beating Michigan last weekend. Georgia is part of that elite tier of teams in college football, along with the likes of Ohio State, Texas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, etc.
