Dorian Brew, CB (Oregon commit)

Texas hosted the elite five-star Conroe (TX) cornerback Dorian Brew, along with a handful of other key defensive back targets in the 2025 class, for midweek official visits in mid-to-late June. Brew was one of Texas's top in-state cornerback targets for this cycle since the start of the 2024 offseason, especially after the first big Junior Day on Jan. 20.

At a couple of different points of this recruitment, Texas was the trendy pick in the race to land Brew's commitment. But he went back and forth on many of the schools he's officially visited since late in the spring, including the LSU Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, USC Trojans, and Oregon throughout this offseason on the recruiting trail.

While Brew committed to the Ducks over the Longhorns, Ohio State, LSU, and USC, in early June, he's still been discussed as a potential flip target for Texas for later in the fall. If Texas stays involved in this recruitment over the few months, it's not out of the question they could get Brew to show up on campus for a gameday visit at DKR this fall.

Austin is just a few hours drive for Brew from Conroe, TX, and he's already been on campus multiple times since the start of this offseason.

Texas has a track record of flipping elite in-state defensive back recruits in each class for the last few cycles around early signing day in December. Last December, Texas flipped five-star McKinney (TX) safety Xavier Filsaime from the Florida Gators.

And it was just a few cycles ago that Texas flipped a high-four-star cornerback, Terrance Brooks, from Ohio State around the Early Signing Period for the 2022 class.
