Where Texas football stands with top priority 2025 recruits
Wide receiver
Dakorien Moore (LSU commit)
Wide receiver recruiting will be a top positional focus for the Longhorns again in the 2025 class. This cycle has one of the deepest and most talented groups of in-state wideouts in the last five years.
Among this talented group of in-state wide receiver recruits, none is better in the 2025 class than the elite Duncanville five-star Dakorien Moore. The No. 1 wide receiver recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking is Texas's top priority at the position for this cycle.
Moore has been committed to head coach Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers since late last summer. Texas and Oregon have continued to chip away at Moore's commitment to LSU since last fall.
The Longhorns and Ducks won't make it easy for LSU to hold onto Moore's commitment through signing day this coming December.
Andrew Marsh
Another one of the many talented in-state wide receiver recruits the Longhorns are prioritizing in the 2025 class early this offseason is Fulshear (TX) Katy Jordan five-star Andrew Marsh. Texas wide receivers coach Chris Jackson has built a good relationship with Marsh since he was hired early last offseason.
Marsh visited Texas multiple times last year and is expected to make it back to Austin sometime during the spring or summer.
So far this offseason, Marsh has visited the Kentucky Wildcats and Texas A&M. He has a good relationship with new Texas A&M wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins from his time at Alabama before getting hired by new head coach Mike Elko and the Aggies in the last couple of months.
Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, and the Oklahoma Sooners are some local schools to watch in this recruitment. The USC Trojans have also made an impression on Marsh and could get an official visit from the elite wideout recruit this summer.
