Predicting every pre-signing day 2025 commit for Texas
Dorian Brew, CB (Oregon commit)
Texas has remained in consistent communication with the elite high-four-star Conroe (TX) cornerback and Oregon Ducks commit Dorian Brew over the past few months, since his summer official visit back in June. Despite Brew committing to the Ducks over the Longhorns, Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers, and USC Trojans in late June, Texas hasn't thrown in the towel in this recruitment.
Don't count out the Longhorns in this recruitment, as it sounds like Texas has made some headway, with the potential that Brew decides to keep his talents in-state for his collegiate decision.
Inside Texas reports that Brew was on campus for an unofficial gameday visit in Austin for the Georgia game on Oct. 19.
Brew remains one of Texas's top in-state priority flip targets in the 2025 class this fall. Texas needs to add at least one cornerback via high school recruiting or the transfer portal next offseason.
Joseph Mbatchou, DL
Arguably, Texas's top out-of-state defensive line target in the 2025 class on the recruiting trail this fall is four-star Loganville (GA) Grayson defensive tackle Joseph Mbatchou. Texas continues to battle the Auburn Tigers in the race to land Mbatchou's commitment on the trail this fall.
It was shortly after Mbatchou's official visit to Texas for the Georgia game on Oct. 19 that he backed off his commitment to Florida. There are a lot of positive signs for the Longhorns in this recruitment, entering signing day in just over a month's time.
It's hard not to like where Texas stands right now in this recruitment. If the Longhorns continue to build the relationship with Mbatchou over the next few weeks successfully, you have to like Texas's chances to win this recruitment before signing day on Dec. 4.
