The Longhorns hosted the No. 1 recruit in Texas in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite, five-star San Antonio (TX) William J. Brennan point guard Kingston Flemings, for an official visit in early September.

Texas is one of three in-state schools Flemings officially visited during the month of September. He also took official visits to see the Houston Cougars (Sep. 28) and Texas Tech Red Raiders (Sep. 9) last month. Other schools involved in this recruitment that Flemings officially visited from out of state in the past few months are the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Arkansas Razorbacks.

Flemings likes the culture within the locker room and the communication and free-moving offensive style of play under Terry's scheme on the floor for Texas. Texas is one of Flemings' top schools in-state this fall that has been recruiting him for a long time.

Texas is one of the first schools Flemings unofficially visited since his recruitment really started blowing up during the 2023 offseason. He took his first unofficial visit to Texas after he received a scholarship offer from the Longhorns in early September 2023.

The problem for Texas in this recruitment is the lead that Texas Tech and Houston have opened up since the end of his fall official visits a few weeks ago. Texas has some ground to make up here to catch up with Texas Tech and Houston before the Early Signing Period, which could be a long shot at this point.

It can be done for the Longhorns to catch up here, but it would take something pretty big to change to get Flemings in the boat in the 2025 class by mid-November next month.
