Javian Osborne, RB

Since last offseason, the battle on the recruiting trail for high-four-star Forney (TX) running back Javian Osborne has been between the Longhorns and Michigan Wolverines. Osborne has visited Texas and Michigan more than any other schools over the past 18 months.

Osborne is arguably the top in-state running back priority for Tashard Choice and the Longhorns in the 2026 class on the trail early this offseason.

One of the first prospects Choice visited on the trail for the 2026 class early this offseason was Osborne at Forney High School in the DFW Metroplex.

On3's Steve Wiltfong reported on Jan. 16 that Texas and the Georgia Bulldogs are the two schools Osborne is scheduled to visit in late January. He's visiting Athens unofficially this weekend to see head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia.

Osborne will be on the Forty Acres next weekend for the first big Junior Day of Texas's 2025 offseason.

Any early lead the Longhorns had in this recruitment for Osborne have probably been erased, as Michigan has made a big move in the past six or eight months for the blue-chip running back recruit from north Texas. The Longhorns and Wolverines are also battling the Alabama Crimson Tide, Notre Dame, and Georgia as Osborne's recruitment really heats up on the trail entering spring and summer official visits.
