Koa Peat, PF/C
Texas's top out-of-state priority recruit that remains uncommitted in the 2025 class late in the winter months on the trail is five-star Gilbert (AZ) Perry power forward Koa Peat.
The No. 4 power forward recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking has been recently narrowing down his list of top schools as he gets closer to a decision before signing day in a few months.
Peat recently named the Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, and Texas among his top three schools. The Houston Cougars and Baylor Bears are also still technically in the mix for Peat's recruitment.
Since Peat hails from Arizona, the Longhorns have an uphill battle to win this recruitment to land Peat's commitment over the Sun Devils and Wildcats. Arizona has momentum right now in Big 12 play, and Arizona State has the in-state ties that appeal to Peat and his family.
Texas received an official visit from Peat in the fall of 2023.
There is still some jostling behind the scenes in this recruitment to see which school ultimately comes out on top for Peat's commitment. Texas still has a shot if it can really put its foot on the gas in this recruitment in the coming weeks and months on the trail.
