Duce Robinson, WR/TE (USC)
Another name the Longhorns are familiar with among the players available in the portal is former USC sophomore tight end/wide receiver Duce Robinson. The former elite five-star recruit from Phoenix (AZ) Pinnacle High School is one of the top receiver talents available in the transfer portal for the winter window right now.
Texas finished in second place behind USC when Robinson committed to the Trojans in the 2024 class last offseason. The gifted 6-foot-6 and 220-pound wideout spent the past two seasons at USC, registering 39 catches for 747 receiving yards (19.2 yards per catch) and seven touchdown catches.
It goes without saying that it would be tremendously impactful for the Longhorns to get a receiver with Robinson's capabilities and raw talent for multiple years of eligibility remaining.
Robinson was a big-time explosive play threat for the Trojans, ranking second on the team in explosive receiving plays in the past two seasons combined (per PFF).
A big question mark surrounding Robinson's portal recruitment is whether it will be a factor to play football and baseball. Robinson is a two-sport athlete who played football and baseball at USC for the past couple of years.
Texas seems likely to be kicking the tires on the idea of targeting Robinson in the portal during the winter transfer window after the Longhorns finished in second place in his high school recruitment last year.
