Predicting Texas's next 2025 commit after DB Kade Phillips
Michael Terry III, ATH
The No. 1 athlete recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking, San Antonio (TX) Alamo Heights five-star Michael Terry III, is nearing his announcement this week.
Per Horns247, Terry is scheduled to announce during a signing day ceremony at the Alamo Heights High School gym on Dec. 4 at 8:15 a.m. CT.
Most of the recent intel and reporting surrounding Terry's recruitment still has the Longhorns in the lead over the Nebraska Cornhuskers under 24 hours from his decision on Wednesday morning on signing day. Nebraska isn't going away quietly, and will continue to push the Longhorns for Terry's commitment through the finish line on signing day tomorrow.
It sounds like not only has Nebraska been making a big late push on the recruiting trail for Terry, but the Oregon Ducks are also trying to get involved late before signing day. Terry had taken an official visit to Eugene to see the Ducks during the summer. And he visited Oregon and head coach Dan Lanning once for a gameday trip on the West Coast this fall.
But Oregon is probably too far behind Texas and Nebraska in the race for Terry's commitment on Dec. 4
Nothing has changed regarding my expectation that Terry will end up committing to the Longhorns in the 2025 class on signing day. If he does commit to Texas on Dec. 4, Terry would put the Longhorns in a spot to secure a top three-ranked class in the nation for 2025 in the 247Sports Composite.
