Texas's top remaining priority among the uncommitted five-star recruits in the 2025 class before signing day on Dec. 4 is elite San Antonio (TX) Alamo Heights athlete Michael Terry III.

The No. 1 athlete recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking had the Longhorns as the leader in his recruitment for the past few months now at least.

Texas continues to battle the Nebraska Cornhuskers on the recruiting trail in the race to win Terry's commitment before we reach the finish line on signing day in early December. Nebraska has really made this a tough race on the trail for Texas to ultimately win out for Terry.

It sounds like Terry really likes what Nebraska has to offer him regarding the potential for early playing time on offense at the skill position he wants to be at during his true freshman campaign in college.

But it's still hard to see the Huskers ultimately moving past Texas among Terry's leaders in his recruitment before he gets ready to make his decision in a couple of weeks during the first signing period in December.

It's also difficult to envision Nebraska passing Texas in this recruitment on the NIL front. Texas has checked a lot of the boxes that Terry and his family want from a good fit at a school, specifically in-state for him.

Terry will very likely draw out his decision timeline through signing day in December. Texas will have to fight through the whistle on this one to seal the deal ahead of Nebraska to land one of the most talented athletes in the nation for the 2025 cycle.
