Javion Hilson, EDGE

Texas and Texas A&M continue to battle it out on the recruiting trail for one of the top EDGE recruits in the nation for the 2025 class this fall, Cocoa (FL) high-four-star Javion Hilson.

The new school in the mix for this recruitment for Hilson is the Michigan Wolverines. Last week, Michigan threw its hat in the ring in this recruitment by officially sending a scholarship offer to Hilson. And he was in Ann Arbor last weekend for an official visit to see Michigan play at the Big House.

Michigan getting Hilson to campus so late this fall before signing day on Dec. 4 does show that he has a certain amount of interest in what the Wolverines have to offer him for his collegiate career.

On3's Steve Wiltfong reported on Nov. 23 that head coach Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines coaching staff are making a big push to get more highly touted blue-chips along the defensive line in their 2025 class over the next couple of weeks before the signing period begins.

It will be a huge deal what happens on the field next weekend in College Station between Texas and Texas A&M. Despite Michigan's late run for Hilson in this recruitment, his decision will probably come down to the Longhorns and Aggies.

Hilson is expected to take his official visit to College Station this weekend to see the Longhorns face the Aggies in a rivalry game at Kyle Field.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that Hilson ultimately chooses the winner of the Lone Star Showdown between Texas and Texas A&M when he announces around signing day on Dec. 4.
