Another high-priority out-of-state big man target for Terry and the Longhorns in the 2025 class this fall is five-star Gilbert (AZ) Perry power forward Koa Peat. The No. 3 power forward recruit in the nation, and No. 6 recruit overall, in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking officially visited Texas last fall.

Texas is a major player in this recruitment going down into the stretch run before Peat's decision. Peat has offers from essentially every top major conference program in the nation. He's considering the Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, Baylor Bears, Houston, and Texas, among his top schools on the recruiting trail this fall.

Peat has officially visited all of his top schools between last fall and right now. He also visited the North Carolina Tar Heels and Michigan Wolverines last year, but hasn't regularly communicated with both schools based on the recent reporting and discussion surrounding his recruitment since this past summer during the 2024 offseason.

If a leader had to be named in this recruitment right now, it would probably come down to Arizona, Baylor, and/or Houston, among his top group of three schools. It's hard to find concrete intel over the past few months regarding which top school Peat is favoring at this point of his recruitment before signing day in a couple of weeks.

Regarding Peat's potential decision timeline, it sounds like it is still a possibility that he announces during the Early Signing Period in mid-November. But there is also about as equal or more of a likelihood in this recruitment that Peat waits until the spring next year to decide (according to On3).
