Malcolm Simpson, DL (Nebraska commit)

The only potential flip target on this list that the Longhorns have yet to offer for the 2025 class this fall among their top in-state defensive tackle priorities is Galveston (TX) Hitchcock four-star Malcolm Simpson. If and when an offer is officially extended to the Nebraska Cornhuskers commit, then this recruitment will be a big one to watch for the Longhorns to possibly flip Simpson before signing day.

Simpson has already made one gameday trip to Texas this fall for the Longhorns' dominant 51-3 win over the UL-Monroe Warhawks in primetime under the lights at DKR in Week 4. He's also scheduled to make a return trip to Texas for the Georgia game next weekend.

The fact that Simpson has enjoyed the visits he's made to Texas since last offseason, and that he's scheduled to see the Longhorns again next weekend, shows that the coaching staff is still interested in what he brings to the table.

Last week during the bye week, Texas coaches stopped by Hitchcock High School to see Simpson and four-star Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver commit Kelshaun Johnson.

Simpson, a 6-foot-3 and 255-pound defensive line prospect from the Houston area, projects as a high-upside athlete at three-tech defensive tackle after a couple of years of development at a P4 program in college.
