Eric Singleton Jr., WR
The most highly-anticipated visitor from the portal the Longhorns are hosting on campus over the next few days is former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets speedy sophomore transfer wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr.
Singleton is scheduled to visit Texas on Monday (Dec. 16).
While Singleton visited the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens last week, it doesn't look like head coach Kirby Smart's squad is still involved in this portal recruitment.
On3's Hayes Fawcett reported on Dec. 14 that Singleton included Texas among his five finalist schools in the portal, including the Auburn Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Ole Miss Rebels, and LSU Tigers. Georgia didn't make the cut for Singleton's top five that was dropped on social media on Saturday afternoon.
Among the five finalists that made the cut for Singleton this weekend, he's already visited two of the schools (Auburn and Ole Miss). He's set to see Texas and Miami early next week. And it sounds like a visit to Baton Rouge to see head coach Brian Kelly and LSU in the near future is viable.
Singleton's sub-10.3 second 100-meter dash speed has made him one of the most sought-after portal recruitments early in the winter transfer window. He's commanding a large price tag, and rightly so given how important having elite speed at the skill positions is for top college football offenses in this day and age of the sport.
In two seasons at Georgia Tech, Singleton registered nearly 1,500 receiving yards, double-digit total touchdowns, and 14.1 yards per catch.
