Terry Webb, DT (Texas State)
With the Longhorns expecting to lose so many snaps along the interior defensive line due to exhausted eligibility among seniors this upcoming offseason, it is critical that Baker and staff replace what they can from the transfer portal to help restore the depth up front in the SEC for 2025.
Texas has done a nice job by adding two "big humans" over 310 pounds each and with multiple years of proven experience playing in the trenches against P4 competition in the ACC (Shaw at UNC) and Big Ten (Brevard at Purdue), respectively.
But the Longhorns are still looking to get more bodies to add big humans up front in the trenches for the 2025 season. With relatively few options available in the winter transfer portal this late in the window in early January, one player that does stick out that the Longhorns could have some interest kicking the tires on is former Texas State Bobcats senior transfer defensive tackle Terry Webb.
At 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, and with nearly 850 career defensive snaps played (over 50 of which coming against P4 competition in the past two seasons), Webb has the size and experience the Longhorns are looking for at defensive tackle from the portal this upcoming offseason.
Something else of note for Webb's portal recruitment is that he has multiple years of eligibility remaining. Texas has a couple of years to get him integrated along the interior defensive line rotation to get him ready to compete in the SEC with the jump in competition from playing each week in the Sun Belt at Texas State for the past two seasons.
Webb has also received portal interest from other P4 schools like the SMU Mustangs, USC, Houston Cougars, and Auburn Tigers, among a handful of others.
