According to reports from 247Sports, four-star offensive tackle Sam Utu has officially announced his visit schedule for next month, which includes a trip to the University of Texas on June 20. He will also be visiting Alabama on June 6 and Tennessee on June 13.
The Longhorns have already secured commitments from two offensive linemen for the 2026 class: 3-star, 6-foot-6, 290-pound OT Max Wright from Melissa High School in Melissa, TX, and 6-foot-3, 335-pound guard Nicholas Robertson from Klein High School in Spring, TX. Both players will bring added size and toughness to Texas's offensive line.
Utu, a 6'4", 320-pound interior lineman from Lutheran High School in Orange, California, is regarded as one of the premier recruits in the 2026 class. He has been a powerhouse for Orange Lutheran since his freshman year, primarily playing as an offensive tackle.
However, he has also taken on every position along the offensive line, including center. His footwork, balance, and lateral movement allow him to excel in pass protection like an offensive tackle, yet he approaches the game with the hand placement and punch mentality of a guard, complemented by his impressive frame.
His athleticism is rooted in his volleyball background, which enhances his ability to reach the second level for lead blocking and pulling with remarkable fluidity for someone of his size. That said, he still has room to grow and can become an even more dominant force at the next level.

If the Longhorns manage to secure a top prospect like Utu, it would significantly bolster Texas's already formidable offensive line under the guidance of Offensive Coordinator and OL Coach Kyle Flood.
