Texas's stacked backfield produces three NFL Draft picks

The Longhorns' running back room with Sarkisian and Tashard Choice in 2022 featured multiple future NFL Draft picks, including Jonathon Brooks, Roschon Johnson, and the Doak Walker Award winner Bijan Robinson.

Texas boasted arguably the best running back room in the nation entering the 2022 season. Not only did the Longhorns have the best running back in college football, but it also had two backup running backs in Johnson and Brooks who rushed for five touchdowns each in 2022.

Robinson's nine games with at least 100 rushing yards included Longhorns' victories in Big 12 play over No. 13 Kansas State and a 49-0 dominant shutout win over the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry game.

He ended his career at Texas with a 243-yard and four touchdown performance in a 55-14 win on the road over the Kansas Jayhawks and a 179-yard and two-score game in the regular season finale win over the Baylor Bears.

Johnson was arguably the nation's best backup running back. He averaged six yards per carry, while rushing for over 500 yards and six total touchdowns.

Robinson and Johnson were the only 2022 running back duo in the Power Five where both players were graded among the 20 best RBs in the FBS (per PFF).
