Texas basketball has looked very good so far in 2026, and in order to continue improving, they'll need to go after top recruits at certain positions going forward.

Specifically in Sean Miller's offense, a lot of the usage and offensive production historically comes from the small forward position. Dailyn Swain has been playing lights out for the Longhorns this year on the wing, and that's helped springboard the team into some big SEC victories as of late.

Looking ahead, one particular 2026 recruit is still available, and Sean Miller has been doing lots of work and scouting on him over the past month.

Swiss SF Klark Riethauser has been taking the recruiting world by storm recently, and schools like Nebraska and Florida are hot on his trail alongside Texas. The 6'8", 200-pound wing has shown the positional flexibility to play both small forward and power forward at the next level. He's been dominating the French U21 league with 18.2 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 2.5 APG while shooting 41.8% from deep.

He has an excellent skillset that should translate well over to NCAA basketball, and his position at Texas, if he were to commit, might honestly just come down to body weight and composition. Right now, he's pretty lanky and has a frame that could easily put on 15-20 pounds without losing athleticism. If he's able to do that, or add even more weight, then he might be most effective inside as a scoring "big".

If Riethauser improves his ball-handling a bit and can prove that he's more than just a catch-and-shoot player on the outside, he might be able to become an effective scorer as an interior slasher at SF.

Whichever the case, Klark Riethauser has an official visit scheduled for next week in Austin.
