With the SEC Championship on the line, No. 2 Texas football (11-1, 7-1 SEC) is looking to avenge its loss during the regular season to the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs (10-2, 6-2 SEC) in Atlanta, GA, on Dec. 7.

Georgia bested Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian by double digits when these teams met in Austin in mid-October, by a score of 30-15.

A win for either squad would lock up a spot among the top two seeds in the 12-team College Football Playoff bracket. Texas still has a shot at the No. 1 overall seed if it defeats Georgia in the SEC Championship Game today, if the No. 1 Oregon Ducks fall to the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Big Ten Championship Game.

With two losses already, Georgia probably wouldn't claim the top overall seed in the Playoff, regardless of what happens in the SEC title game this afternoon.

Here's a look at the final betting odds and game prediction for the SEC Championship Game between No. 2 Texas and No. 5 Georgia at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA, on Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. CT.

Texas football vs. Georgia odds

Texas is a 2.5-point favorite against Georgia in the SEC title game. And the Longhorns are favored in the money line (-150) over the Dawgs (+125), per FanDuel. The over/under is 50.5 points.

The pregame betting odds for the spread have remained the same this week, favoring the Longhorns by 2.5 points. The over/under jumped a couple of points, from 48.5 to 50.5 today.

Texas football vs. Georgia prediction

Most experts in the national media feel like this will be a close game between the Longhorns and Bulldogs in Atlanta on Saturday afternoon. ESPN's Bill Connelly picked the Longhorns to beat the Dawgs by two points.

If quarterback Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns can get out to a good start in this game for the Texas offense, they can set the tone and make Georgia quarterback Carson Beck play from behind. Beck tossed three interceptions against the Texas defense when these two teams met at DKR a couple of months ago.

Beck's struggles have been outsized down the stretch this season for Georgia offensively. The Texas defense should be able to take advantage of a Georgia passing attack that has been inconsistent and turnover prone this season.

Getting the ground game going will also be imperative for the Longhorns to beat Georgia, with sophomore running back Quintrevion Wisner rushing for over 150 yards in back-to-back games.

Final score prediction: Texas-28, Georgia-24
