The national media is starting to catch on to what Steve Sarkisian and Co. have been able to accomplish at the University of Texas, and is also realizing that they undoubtedly have the "staying power" to achieve much more going forward.

The Athletic’s Ralph Russo recently wrote about the Texas football program and how far they've come with Steve Sarkisian at the helm, specifically from a consistency standpoint as a football program.

"Texas is becoming the new Alabama. No, that doesn’t mean the Longhorns are going to rattle off a half-dozen titles in the next decade. But this is the season Texas puts its staying power on display. There is always another draft pick. There is always another All-American. The talent conveyor belt is fully operational — and well-funded. The days of stumbling as a 12-point favorite at home appear to be over.

Much like Kirby Smart did when he left Saban and Alabama to take over at Georgia, Sarkisian implemented the Bama blueprint at a school with more resources and easier access to talent than Saban’s old school, building a program to rival the Tide"

It's obvious that Texas is no longer "satisfied" with being just an above-average team, they want to be great and compete for national titles every year. As a fan, it's really cool to feel the attitude and culture change around not only the football program but the entire city of Austin.

Coach Sark recently spoke to The Athletic in the Spring and said:

"If you talk to any of our players, or you just listen to their discussions … our players are talking about national championship. They’re not talking about a rebuild. They’re not talking about, ‘Well, we’ll see how this goes.’ There’s a standard here. There’s an expectation, and they understand that they’re held to the standard"

The Longhorns began 2025 with the goal of having the No.1-ranked recruiting class in the country, and they went out and did it (with ease). It honestly appears as though Texas is finally here to stay, and Longhorn nation couldn't be happier to witness the greatness of Sark's Longhorns.
