The Miami Dolphins have officially made the decision to bench Tua Tagovailoa, and start Quinn Ewers at quarterback on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Tua hasn't been that good in 2025, and Ewers looked promising throughout the summer and in preseason for the team.
In yesterday's media session, a key member of Miami's offense, RB De'Von Achane, raved about Ewers to the media:
"We know he's a rookie, but when he's out there, he acts as if he was a vet. That's how you want your rookies to act."

It's incredibly clear that the Dolphins' skill players believe in Ewers and are confident in his ability to lead the team to a win on Sunday. Achane also mentioned that Ewers doesn't seem to be nervous right now, and that this is unusual for players getting their first starts, especially at quarterback.
"He doesn't show none of that", Achane said in regards to Ewers being visibly nervous.
Throughout the offseason and preseason, there were numerous clips floating around of Ewers making some really nice throws and plays. Some even called for him to be the starter earlier this season when Tagovailoa was struggling. Ewers already has a lot of fans in Miami, and for good reason.
Heading into the 2024 season at Texas, he was projected to be one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, his senior year didn't go the way he wanted it to and he played through injuries, which made him look worse than he really is.
He then fell all the way to the seventh-round where the Dolphins grabbed him. Ewers has a real chance to solidify himself in Miami this weekend, and if he impresses over the last few games, he could potentially challenge Tagovailoa for the starting job heading into 2026.
