For whatever reason, Texas HC Steve Sarkisian has handled himself pretty poorly in 2025 press conferences, and his latest was one of the worst.

A member of the media asked him what he thought some of the main reasons are that this year's team has underachieved.

Sarkisian immediately burst out saying, "According to who?".

This outburst was incredibly unwarranted and sad. It's easy to tell that Sarkisian is reeling and trying to present a strong, confident exterior because it's obvious to everyone that Texas is underachieving, to say the very least.

When you're ranked No.1 heading into the year and have three losses heading into week 13, that's called underachieving or failing.

"By the end of the season we'll play of our 12 regular season opponents, 5 of those teams will be top 10 teams when we played them...We have an opportunity at the end of the regular season to do something that nobody's done since 2019, and that's beat three top 10-ranked teams in the regular season."

The Longhorns "could" also have five losses right now thanks to Sarkisian's bad offensive playcalling in crucial situations. It's time for Sark to stop making excuses for the team's performance and start looking inward.

The defense has been absolutely lights out all season long. Despite the offense having more talent than it's had in a while, aside from the offensive line, it hasn't been able to consistently move the ball. The offensive line is also a huge failure by Sarkisian, as the team could've basically added any offensive lineman that they wanted to in the offseason.

The coaching staff chose to completely ignore the offensive line heading into 2025, and this is what they ended up with. Thankfully, moving Cole Hutson to LG and starting Connor Robertson at C helped a little bit recently.

Sarkisian could've handled this question in a completely different way by simply owning up to the lack of offensive success and downfalls in 2025.
