Texas football has been the talk of the town amongst the college football world lately, and that's because of Steve Sarkisian's mission to prove that he's the most confident head coach in the world. The way he's aggressively going after and calling out other FBS teams could come off as "arrogant" to other fanbases, but to Longhorns fans and the national media, it's incredibly welcomed.
College football analysts and members of broadcasting teams everywhere are expressing their excitement for what Sark's doing right now, including former Georgia football legend and current media fixture David Pollack.
This is the Steve Sarkisian that everybody wanted to see
Here's what Pollack had to say in response to Sarkisian's recent shot at Texas Tech:
"I’m loving this offseason for Sark! Say what you feel. Take shots. I’m here for all of it and usually when you talk like he is you feel really good about your team. Hook em about to go off this year! Book it!"
Yes, it's really early to be saying these types of things, but it comes from his belief and confidence in this year's Texas football team. Multiple people have said that the 2026 squad could be Sarkisian's most impressive team that he's ever had from a talent standpoint, and it's really not that hard to believe.
Players like Arch Manning, Hollywood Smothers, Raleek Brown, Cam Coleman, Ryan Wingo, Colin Simmons, Rasheem Biles, and Jelani McDonald could all be near the top of the list when it comes to national position rankings at the end of the 2026 season.
To be 100% honest, if the Longhorns don't win the National Championship this season, it'll be seen by most of the country as a disappointing season. Having the toughest schedule in all of football isn't going to matter either.
Here's On3's Ari Wasserman with another vote of confidence for Steve Sarkisian and Texas:
You know how I know Texas is going to be really good this year? Sark is out for blood this offseason. https://t.co/3UnohcpezG

Showing public confidence in your team is a great way to please both the fans and players. Whenever a coach isn't afraid to say something controversial because he knows his players will back him up on the field, it makes those players feel incredibly valued and motivated.
Longhorn Nation should be feeling incredibly confident heading into 2026, just like Sark and the rest of the coaching staff. It's been quite a while since Texas has had this type of swagger amongst the college football world, and it's just the beginning. Hook'em!
