Two decades ago, legendary running back Adrian Peterson was cutting up turf for the Oklahoma Sooners, including amassing 344 rushing yards against the Texas Longhorns over three years.
Now, making quite a few fans of both teams feel quite a bit older than they did just a week ago, Peterson's son, Adrian Peterson Jr., is going through his recruitment process.
To the shock of everyone, including a visit to the very rival of his father's alma mater, working out on the 40 Acres over the past weekend.
After the workout, pictures of Peterson Jr. and the rest of the family were shared on social media, with the elder Peterson even sharing that his youngest son was ready to commit to Texas, despite not being the focus of the Horns' recruiting efforts quite yet.
Adrian Peterson and family spend the weekend with the Longhorns
Peterson Sr. suited up for the Sooners from 2004 through 2006 before going on to one of the most impressive careers in the NFL for a running back.
His greatest performance against the Longhorns was in 2004, when Peterson earned a whopping 225 rushing yards against Texas.
While Oklahoma only went 1-2 against the Horns with Peterson on the roster, his performance left a sour taste in the mouths of Texas fans everywhere.

Peterson Jr. is a wide receiver in the class of 2030, so he's still nearly half a decade away from suiting up for any collegiate team. However, if Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian could pique his interest this early on, it could be a great step toward stealing the legacy recruit from the Longhorns' rival.

So far, only three teams have offered Peterson Jr., neither being Oklahoma or Texas, with the Miami Hurricanes, Baylor Bears, and Missouri State Bears in his back pocket.
