Steve Sarkisian’s haters are about to call in this receipt

One of Sark's old press conference videos has been circulating around on social media, and it could draw some unwanted attention to his performance at Texas so far.

Steve Sarkisian had big plans for Texas when he accepted the head coaching position in January of 2021, and though he's done pretty well since then, 2025 has been incredibly rough.

When things go south for a football team, it's incredibly hard for the outside world to not blame the head coach. They're the one who's responsible for ultimately putting the pieces together and building a winning program.

For Steve Sarkisian in 2025, things haven't been going according to plan with Arch Manning at the helm. Though Manning and the passing offense has looked better over the last four to five games, the team hasn't been able to consistently tie everything together this year for some reason.

After week 12's heartbreaking loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, things got pretty spicy online, with a video of Sarkisian speaking about how things could look in "year four" of his tenure:

Yikes.

This isn't what Steve Sarkisian wanted to see pop up right now. That fact he said that he would be "more concerned" if he was sitting in year 4 with three or four losses, doesn't look great for him.

He's already been taking a lot of flak for his playcalling in 2025 as well, being too predictive and getting overly "cute" in crucial situations. Earlier in the year, Sark ran a long-developing trick play on 3rd & 2 that completely killed the series and stopped Texas from being able to score points on one of their opening drives. Instances like this have happened more than once this year, and they have to be addressed at some point.

Despite leading the team to back-to-back CFP appearances in 2023 and 2024, Sarkisian's pretty much bombed in 2025. It'll be interesting to see what comes of this video popping up recently.
