Texas added a plethora of incredible weapons on offense this offseason, with Cam Coleman, Raleek Brown, and Hollywood Smothers transferring in from Auburn, Arizona State, and North Carolina State, respectively. Despite these players getting an incredible amount of hype so far, Sark wanted to make sure that Longhorn Nation still remembers Ryan Wingo's name.
Everyone's been discussing how Cam Coleman, Michael Masunas, and the new running backs are going to help the team break out in 2026, but little has been said about Wingo's potential contribution this year.
“I feel like we’ve forgotten about Ryan Wingo. This guy was a second-team all-SEC receiver, had over 850 yards last year, and we all loved Xavier (Worthy) when he was here. In Xavier's sophomore year, I think he had like 700 yards, and all of a sudden, it's like we forgot about Ryan Wingo. He's a really good player, and we're fortunate to have him to go along with Cam (Coleman) and Emmett (Mosley) and all the guys over there. So that's just one thing that's shown up to me as Ryan has been coming back into the fold, it's like, wow. You know, this guy's really good, and he continues to get better from where he was his freshman year and where he is now."
Texas is going to struggle once again to run the ball on this Georgia defense, which means the Longhorns are going to have to manage success rate through the short passing and screen game.

Bringing up Worthy in his explanation was perfect, as Wingo is basically just a bigger version of Worthy when it comes to his overall skill set and usage in Steve Sarkisian's offense.
Wingo is going to be the explosive speedster that consistently wins over the top of defenses and in the quick game on different screen variations and rub routes near the line of scrimmage.
As long as Wingo cleans up the drops from 2025, he's going to be an incredibly important piece of the puzzle on offense in 2026. Both Cam Coleman and Wingo are going to be opening things up for each other in Texas's passing game next season, and it's going to be beautiful to watch.
