Following today's practice, Texas HC Steve Sarkisian revealed some interesting information regarding multiple players and position groups, but one topic stood out.
During his post-practice media presser, Sark didn't hold back when it came to his observations from today surrounding Cam Coleman and his first impressions of him on the field.
"I think the skill set kind of speaks for itself. But I think it's the work ethic, the demeanor, his willingness to be coachable, the effort he exudes.”
Coleman has been praised for the type of example he sets for his teammates in the past, and Sarkisian mentioned it again today.
“When your best players are your best practice players, they send a great message to the rest of the team, and I think Cam has done that.”
Cam Coleman’s first official @TexasFootball practice was on Monday as the #Longhorns began spring practice.

Needless to say, it sounds like Sarkisian and the coaching staff has already been impressed with Coleman off the field during winter workouts, as it was mentioned that Coleman came in conditioned and ready to go this offseason.
As far as the whole "setting an example" thing for the rest of the team goes, there's definitely something to be said for that. If you're on a team that doesn't have good leaders who set a great example, things are going to become problematic.
The fact that Cam Coleman came in without an ego and immediately became one of the hardest workers on the team is incredibly impressive, seeing that some elite players seem to feel like they shouldn't have to give it 100% in workouts or practice.
I don't think it's a huge secret that Coleman came to Texas because he wanted to win a national championship, and what he's doing right now will undoubtedly increase those chances for the team.
