Taylor Jones isn't done with basketball quite yet after going undrafted

Former Texas Longhorns forward Taylor Jones did not hear her name called during the 2025 NFL Draft. However, she is still taking a step in the right direction.

Despite playing for one of the top teams in the nation and despite being a finalist for some of the most prestigious awards in collegiate women's basketball, Taylor Jones did not hear her name called during the three rounds of the 2025 WNBA Draft.

However, Jones is far from done with basketball. On Wednesday, April 30, Jones was invited to the USA Basketball 3x3 developmental camp.

Jones was a special player for the Texas Longhorns, playing three years in Austin after starting her career for the Oregon State Beavers. Throughout her lengthy collegiate career, the 6-foot-4 forward averaged 11.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game.

Were any Texas Longhorns picked in the 2025 WNBA Draft?

No. Despite winning the SEC regular-season title, appearing in the conference championship game, holding the No. 1 ranking for a majority of the season, and earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament Final Four, not a single former Longhorn

Since taking over the program in 2020, head coach Vic Schaefer has had just one former Texas player drafted. Charli Collier, who played just one season for the Horns under Schaefer, was selected first overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Dallas Wings.

What is 3x3 basketball?

3x3 basketball is exactly what it sounds like, to some extent. Each team has three players on the court at a time, but they only play on a half-court.

On June 9, 2017, 3x3 basketball was added to the list of Olympic sports. The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, which were held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, marked 3x3 basketball's official debut.
