Texas football has been looking for at least one immediate-impact transfer wideout from the portal in the winter window. Last offseason, Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian added multiple immediate-impact transfer wide receivers from the portal to give quarterback Quinn Ewers multiple proven weapons on the outside to get the ball out to on offense.

Can Texas football find a portal WR answer by targeting former Texas A&M transfer Noah Thomas?

Junior wide receivers Matthew Golden and Isaiah Bond have been extremely impactful for Texas's offense and passing game for Ewers this fall. Senior wide receiver Silas Bolden, a former Oregon State transfer, has also made an impact on multiple sides of the ball for the Longhorns on offense and special teams in the return game.

Sarkisian, wide receivers coach Chris Jackson, and the Longhorns can look to a big-time rival school in the SEC for immediate help and a proven transfer to the receiving corps.

On3's Steve Wiltfong reported on Jan. 2 that Texas, along with the Miami Hurricanes and Georgia Bulldogs, are early "schools to watch" in the portal recruitment for former Texas A&M Aggies junior wide receiver Noah Thomas.

The 6-foot-6 and 200-pound third-year wideout Thomas has the length and large catch radius to be a natural fit as an outside possession receiver in Sarkisian's offense.

Thomas is one of the top transfer wide receivers available in the winter portal window. He's one of the most experienced and proven transfer wideouts with multiple years of experience in the P4. Thomas registered 73 career catches for 984 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.

Against the Longhorns this season, Thomas had three catches for 31 receiving yards and no touchdowns in the Aggies' 10-point loss to Texas.

Thomas announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Jan. 1. Texas A&M is reportedly "doing everything they can to keep Thomas in the fold" before he officially enters the transfer portal for this upcoming offseason.
